Joachim Koschnicke joins Hering Schuppener as a partner, strengthening the Corporate & Public Affairs practice
Berlin/Düsseldorf, 02/11/2017 – Hering Schuppener, Germany’s leading strategic communica-tions consultancy, will be strengthening its Corporate & Public Affairs practice by bringing on board one of the most pre-eminent policy strategists in the country: effective 1 January 2018, Joachim Koschnicke (45) will join the team around Henriette Peucker and Christoph Bertram that advises clients from its Berlin and Brussels offices.
Joachim Koschnicke has been serving in managerial positions for many years and brings extensive experience in policy strategy and communications. In his role as Vice President Public Policy & Industry Strategy at the vehicle manufacturer Opel between 2013 and March 2017, he was responsible for European stakeholder communication – including the relationship management and building with political institutions and organisations, governments, associations and companies – and helped transform the group into a mobility provider. In April 2017, he joined the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus team in Berlin to support Chancellor Angela Merkel in her general election campaign as Head of Strategic Planning and Strategic Communications.

From 2018, Joachim Koschnicke will now bring his expertise in advising companies on the implications of political, social and economic developments on their business model and their strategic positioning to Hering Schuppener. “Societal developments not only force companies to constantly reassess where they stand and continually adjust their business models; they also offer new opportunities. After a total ten years in the corporate world and ten years in politics, I now want to assist companies in their strategic communications and their positioning,” comments Joachim Koschnicke who looks forward to his new role.
Joachim Koschnicke studied law and business administration in Bonn and Heidenheim. He started his professional career as a specialist in central corporate planning at BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. He moved into politics in 1999 as a specialist in the general policy issues and political planning department of the CDU Germany. Between December 2000 and January 2005, he managed the office of the secretary general of the CDU. In January 2005, he was appointed head of the strategic planning and strategic communications department of the CDU Germany. Before joining Adam Opel AG in 2013, Joachim Koschnicke was a managing partner of Forsa Gesellschaft für Sozialforschung und statistische Analyse mbH for two years.
