Hering Schuppener to focus on the core business of strategic communication consulting

Hering Schuppener, Germany’s leading strategic consulting firm for communications, will focus on its core business in the future. Effective September 1, 2019, its unit for brand and corporate communications in Düsseldorf and the subsidiary Hering Schuppener Healthcare in Hamburg will become part of BCW Group (Burson Cohn & Wolfe) and operate under the GCI brand. The brand and corporate communications business unit will be called GCI Hering Schuppener, and Hering Schuppener Healthcare will become GCI Health. Hering Schuppener and BCW Group are both members of the WPP Group.

With these moves, GCI Hering Schuppener will be able to further expand its specialization in communication strategies for brands and companies. The health business expects to generate additional globalization and growth by expanding across GCI Health’s international network. Management of the two entities will not change. The operational management of GCI Hering Schuppener will continue to be the responsibility of Janine Döring. Dr. Horst Müther, who will remain co-owner, and Katharina Tolkmitt will continue as Managing Directors of GCI Health.

“We are really excited about gaining GCI as a partner, a thriving member of the BCW Group. As a result of the high synergy potential, they provide an even better growth outlook for our units in brand communications and healthcare,” said Folker Dries, Managing Partner of Hering Schuppener. “Hering Schuppener will continue its strong growth in the core business of strategic communication consulting as part of its proven partnership with Finsbury and the Glover Park Group.”
