Hering Schuppener reorganizes management: Tina Mentner becomes Chairwoman, Christoph Bertram becomes Managing Partner
Düsseldorf, September 14, 2020 – After around 20 years in management positions at Hering Schuppener, Hering Schuppener Consulting (HSC) founding partner Tina Mentner will switch from the operative business to the role of Chairwoman of the company in continental Europe at the turn of the year. At the same time, Christoph Bertram, Partner in HSC's Berlin office, steps up into the management team and becomes Managing Partner, alongside Alexander Geiser, Dr. Brigitte von Haacke, Dr. Phoebe Kebbel and Dr. Hans-Elmar Döllekes (CFO).
Alexander Geiser explained: “Tina Mentner is the most impressive German entrepreneur in our industry. With her knowledge, her experience and finally with her passion she has shaped the communications landscape for more than two decades, she has assisted countless organizations and companies in challenging crisis situations and last but not least she has shaped our company so significantly that her very own characteristics are today the core components of our values: Excellence, Team Spirit, Integrity, Courage and Responsibility. We are proud and happy that Tina will continue to accompany us in the future – as a role model for our team and the first Chairwoman of our company. In this role she will continue to support the integration with our partners Finsbury and GPG”.
Tina Mentner said: “Even today I am as enthusiastic about this company as I was on the first day and I am happy and grateful when I look back on what I have achieved so far. Even more I am looking forward to my new role. I started as an entrepreneur of a young communications start-up. Now this company has long grown up, is a professional home for almost 200 team members and is setting out to become a world-class leader as Finsbury Glover Hering. I am very much looking forward to accompanying this next step with heart and hand together with our international friends and at the same time to have more time for my family”.
Christoph Bertram will succeed Tina Mentner on the management board. He joined Hering Schuppener in 2010 and has been responsible for the company’s Berlin office since 2018. With his commitment, Hering Schuppener has been able to further internationalize the public affairs offering. In 2013 he laid the foundation for the Brussels office and ensured closer cooperation in the transatlantic partnership with GPG during an 18-month stay in Washington D.C.
At the Düsseldorf office, Tina Mentner will hand over operational responsibility for the “Crisis and Special Situations” team at the turn of the year to Dirk von Manikowsky, with whom she has enjoyed nine years of friendship and close cooperation in crisis consulting for clients and in the management of the team, and Kai Peter Rath, who will join Hering Schuppener as a Partner from McKinsey in November 2020.
